Grace may touch your life in subtle ways: You have a serious car accident, but walk away unharmed. You get the job you want and meet your life partner. You find the right doctor who saves your life. Everyday there is evidence of grace touching people’s lives. When you acknowledge it and express gratitude, it becomes your companion.
Grace is available to you in times of challenge: You hesitate to make an important decision; your money is running out, or your cancer is spreading. As you hit the inner wall, you decide to ask for help because you have gone as far as you can go. When you give the situation over to grace, you create the opening through which Love enters. You may receive insights, assistance or healing.
As you allow grace to lift you beyond ignorance, lack and suffering, you are helping the ego relinquish its perceived control of outcomes. Each time grace takes you through another barrier, the ego learns that the process works. Someone or something greater than itself is in charge. The ego learns that it can breathe under water; it can trust and be guided. It begins to participate in the co-creative process with the Self.
You may get discouraged because you cannot control when grace touches your life. At times it may lift you, and at other times it appears that you are on your own. The ego begins to doubt. But, if you continue to believe and work with this divine resource, you doubt less and trust more.
Grace is not only here to rescue you, but to reunite you with the Self—your Higher Power. In alignment with your true divine nature, you become a beacon of light and truth to others—an instrument of grace.
