You carry a heavy burden if you are mentally and emotionally attached to being right, possessing more or controlling outcomes. Attachment leads to feelings of discontent and inner turmoil. It also creates obstacles on your journey to the Self—unity consciousness. It traps you in your limited perception of reality.
There is another way to be in the world: Non-attachment releases you from striving and constriction. You are free from limited thinking and emotions. You learn to accept what is, be aware of unlimited possibilities and do your best in the present moment. In addition, your possessions no longer control your life and your wellbeing.
To master non-attachment, you need to be curious, trusting and observant. With an open mind, you are not invested in protecting some limiting belief. Instead, you gather and analyze information objectively. Non-attachment enables you to remain open and trust the process until the pieces of the puzzle fall into place.
When you are open and aware, the Self raises your perceptions and thought processes to Higher Order thinking. The ego continues to compartmentalize people, events, and thoughts through a mind grounded in dualism, reason and logic. The rational mind makes sense of the world through limited reasoning and judgments that give meaning to experiences. But, the Self observes what is, transcends dualistic thinking, restores inner peace and knows truth.
If you are non-attached, you have an open mind and feel comfortable living in the universal flow. Trust the expansion of the Self and participate in life from the higher perspective of the objective observer. Each time you trust the divine order of things, you allow life to flow through you with open hands, not clenched fists.
